Senior actor and protagonist Chandramohan passed away due to cardiac arrest at 9.45 am today in Hyderabad Apollo Hospital. He is 82 years old and living with his wife Jalandhara and two daughters. The funeral will be held in Hyderabad on Monday.

Chandramohan was born on May 23, 1942 in Pamidimukkala village of Krishna district. Mallampally Chandrasekhara Rao after completing his studies, he worked in Eluru for some time. Then he reached Madras with a passion for movies. But like everyone else, Chandramohan got offers without any difficulties.

Chandramohan made his debut in the industry with the movie ‘Rangula Ratnam’ in 1966. His thin, rivet-like appearance is impressive and has reached many people in a very short time. Moreover, some kinships have also come together in the industry. As a result, the stars of those days rose from supporting roles to second roles in hero films.

After moving from supporting roles to lead roles, Chandramohan turned into a lucky star. Many of the heroines who acted with him became star heroines. At that time, the dream of every new heroine in the industry was to act with Chandramohan at least once. Jayaprada with ‘Sirisirimuvva’ and Sridevi with ‘ padhaarella vayasu ‘ with Chandramohan introduced as heroines. After that, she became a top heroine.

Director K. Vishwanath is a long relative to Chandramohan. He entered the movies with that introduction. Whatever it is.. later he stood up with his own talent. No matter how many films he has done, he excelled in different roles. Renowned director Relangi Narasimha Rao praised about his Chandramohan’s talent in this regard. Chandramohan has a clear understanding of the character and the content.

Today’s generation only knows Chandramohan as the father of comedy and as a character artist. But at that time, many heroes, directors and producers used to say that he would have become a superstar if he had been ‘one step taller’. It is true.. His height has become minus. However as an actor he has weight that is unmatched by anyone.

Chandramohan earned an image as a star hero but not in very big range. In addition to this, many upcoming heroines used to act with him due to his lucky hand image. There are many such heroines like Jayaprada, Sridevi, Manjula, Talluri Rameshwari, Radhika, Jayasudha, Prabha, Vijayashanti. All of them became star heroines after acting with Chandramohan. There is no other hero in the history of Indian cinema with such a credit.

He has played unstoppable roles as a comedy hero. Especially the movies with Rajendra Prasad made us laugh till the stomach growls. He also played lead roles in some films with Chiranjeevi and impressed . Chandramohan’s diction was different no matter what. He used to present the character perfectly with that diction.

After becoming a character artist, many roles done by Chandramohan looked noble. He became the backbone of many movies with his very realistic acting. There are many examples of Chandramohan’s acting in which only the character is elevated without his image as a hero.
It must be said that it will be difficult if an artist like Chandramohan will find himself on the Telugu screen again. Especially the mischief he did as the father of boy heroes..
