Kantara, initially released as a small film created a sensation all over India which created a visual feast with the folklore of coastal Karnataka.
The action thriller film made on a budget of 16 crores went on to collect 450 crores at the Indian box office in it’s final run.
Even after the OTT release, the thriller film completed a 100 days run in theatres and in the same event Rishab Shetty announced that ‘Kantara’ was supposed to be a ‘Part2’ film and ‘Part1’ is waiting for it’s release in 2024.
Shetty added, during the shoot of Kantara, the thought of prequel came to my mind and the history of Kantara has more depth to discover as it cover’s the events that took place ages ago.
Rishab and his writing team are currently digging up the facts and they are yet to discover more.
