Nowadays, it has become common for Telugu actors to collaborate with Tamil directors, and Tamil actors to collaborate with Telugu directors. The most recent and best examples of this are movies like Varisu, Prince, Sir, Custody, etc.
It was expected that director Gopichand Malineni was also set to join this list with Tamil actor Vijay, with Vijay reportedly okaying his script. It is now being said that this is not going to happen anymore, as Vijay has decided not to work with Telugu directors as of now, as he wishes to get into politics next year.
As such, the actor reportedly wants to work with Tamil directors who can tap into the socio-political aspects of the people of the state, so that it would help him out.
