Massive remuneration, but is he worth it?

Superstar Mahesh Babu enjoys a solid position in Tollywood and enjoys a fanbase that some actors could only dream of. No matter how his films turn out to be, they are usually a very safe bet for producers because every film of his manages to bring in the numbers – if the film is a disaster like Brahmotsavam, then that’s a different story.

The actor is currently busy with director Trivikram Srinivas’s Guntur Kaaram, which has faced a lot of issues but seems to be going on fine for now. The film features Sree Leela as the leading lady, while Meenakshi Chaudhary will be seen in a key role.

It is now being said that Mahesh Babu is taking a pay cheque of Rs. 78 Crores plus GST, for this project, which is a record in itself, for a non pan-Indian film. While considering that he is capable of bringing in the numbers, it still needs to be wondered whether such a huge salary for the actor is justifiable, especially since he seems to be more concerned about factors other than his films.
