In the beginning of this year, the heroes of mega families were popular. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s ‘Waltair Veerayya’, which was released as a Sankranthi gift in January, was a huge hit. This is Chiranjeevi’s last super hit after ‘Khaidi No 150’ in re-entry. Chiru gave a mega performance as Waltair Veerayya in this movie directed by Bobby. And.. Saidharam Tej’s ‘Virupaksha’ which was released in April was also a great success.Coming as a horror thriller, this movie has given a new visual treat to the audience. Directed by Karthik Varma Dandu with the magic of Sukumar’s screenplay, the film collected around Rs.100 crores at the box office. So.. In the first half of this year, mega heroes got great success with ‘Waltair Veeraiah, Virupaksha’.
In the second half, one after another, the mega family got full shocks. Pawan Kalyan-Saidharam Tej’s ‘Bro’, which came in July with a lot of expectations, has had excellent openings. However.. this movie was average in long run. And.. Chiranjeevi’s ‘Bhola Shankar’, which came with many expectations in August, was a serious disappointment. This film remains one of the disasters among short films. Same situation with Varun Tej’s ‘Gandivadhari Arjuna’ which was released in the month of August.This movie gave a big flop to Varun Tej who had a hit like ‘F3’. Another mega hero Vaishnav Tej’s latest release ‘Aadikeshava’ is getting negative reviews. And.. Varun Tej’s ‘Operation Valentine’ is supposed to come in December this year. The promotions of ‘Operation Valentine’, whose release date has been finalized on December 8, have not yet started. Overall.. if this year’s mega family heroes were popular in the beginning.. then it can be said that they are completely disappointing.
