Promotions just an aid, content is still king

A lot of the films that are released these days are going all out when it comes to promoting their film, trying every trick to make sure that their film is talked about and generates good interest among audiences. However, despite their best efforts, this is not taking place.

A lot of money is being spent on promotions, but audiences are only going to the theatres based on the trailer and word of mouth from other audiences. If the talk is bad, audiences are not watching a movie in theatres, even if it is being headlined by a top actor.

The best recent example of this is Adipurush, which started out quite well, but fell very low when the talk came out in a disastrously.
