Is this remake rumor true?

When there were no OTT platforms, and when the awareness levels of people were much lesser than they are today, it was a norm to make remake films in every industry throughout India, given that there are several languages in the country, and no one understands all of them.

However, after the rise of OTT platforms, which make movies from various languages accessible through subtitles or dubbed versions, remakes have become sort of pointless. Even then, filmmakers are not backing down from doing remakes. One such remake currently in the works in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bholaa Shankar, which is a remake of the Tamil film Vedhalam.

According to the latest reports, Bholaa Shankar is expected to be the last remake of Tollywood, with the filmmakers in the industry having realized that audiences are not interested in watching remakes anymore. If Bholaa Shankar indeed turns out to be the last remake of Tollywood, then that is great news. But if that’s not the case, then it is time for Tollywood to actually realise that remakes are not being encouraged by audiences anymore.
