Ismart Shankar, directed by Puri Jagannath, and featuring Ram Pothineni in the lead role, turned out to be a massive success when it was released in 2019. While Ram’s performance and his energetic dance moves were heavily appreciated by everyone, there is no doubt int he fact that everyone was also surprised by the resounding success of the film, given that there isn’t much to it.
As such, a lot of eyebrows were raised when it was announced earlier this year that the movie is getting a sequel, Double Ismart, with Ram set to be seen in the lead role again. The shooting of this film is expected to begin soon, and it has now come to light that Ram has quoted a whopping amount as his remuneration for the film.
Ram is said to have quoted Rs. 30 Crores as his remuneration, which Puri, who is also producing the film along with Charmmee, is said to have agreed to pay him.
This is going to impact the budget significantly, and given that Puri is fresh off of the disastrous result of Liger, it looks as though Double Ismart is taking double the risk with such huge budget and investment. Let’s see what will happen ultimately.
