The first half of 2023 is done, and with that, it is safe to summarise how the first half of the year has been like for Tollywood. There have been a number of releases in the first half, and with the exception of just a few movies, the rest of it was a major flop show.
The beginnning of 2023 started off pretty well with super successful films like Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy. However, it’s been a downhill ride since then, with only Virupaksha being even tolerable and performing well at the box office.
There have been other big ticket films like Agent, Custody, Shaakuntalam, the magnanimuous Adipurush and several others, but all of them turned out to be huge disasters. Here’s hoping the second half will turn out to be much better.
