Awards are very exciting for artists. They give more recognition to their hard work. Actors and technicians consider the Nandi Award as the best award in the Telugu film industry. Many governments have given Nandi awards to artists who have served the Telugu film industry for decades. However, the two state governments have not cared about the Nandi awards for several years.
Earlier, the KCR government had announced that ‘Simha’ awards would be given to the artists of the film industry. But.. it did not materialize. Recently the Telangana government under the leadership of Revanth Reddy has announced that Gaddar Awards will be given in place of Nandi Awards. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made these remarks on the occasion of public singer Gaddar Jayanti. Establishing awards in the name of an artist and giving them to the film industry is a welcome development.
