Director Puri Jagannath scored a lucky and unexpected hit with his film Ismart Shankar, to be honest, and the director thought that his next outing, Liger, would also become a good success. The film was made on a high budget, and on a pan-Indian scale, with Bollywood actors a part of the film.
Liger turned out to be a major disaster of 2022, putting all of Puri’s films on hold. Puri now teamed up with Ram Pothineni once again, for Double Ismart, the sequel for their film Ismart Shankar. Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has been roped in as the antagonist for the film, and his look has been released recently.
Given that Sanjay Dutt is a Bollywood actor, it is safe to say that the director might be hoping to release the film in Hindi and target Bollywood audiences as well. If that is the case, there is a probability that the film might suffer the same fate as Liger, considering that Liger failed to appeal to any one particular audience.
