The national media, especially Bollywood media, has never particularly been kind to South films, and has always shown partiality towards Hindi films, even when that’s not how the South has been towards the North.
This hypocrisy has been evident in recent times as well, with the two latest releases, BRO and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, which were released on the same day. Bollywood critics have not been kind to BRO, while they have been raving about RRKPR, which has also been received in a very lukewarm way by the audiences.
BRO is not a particularly spectacular film, however, neither is RRKPR, thus exposing the hypocrisy of national and Bollywood media in particular.
