OTT platforms offered a major respite to audiences during the coronavirus pandemic time. There’s no doubt about that. Many major films were even released on OTT platforms when theatres had to be shut down, and a lot of original content was also released on OTT platforms, that was widely watched.
In the months since OTT content has only increased, but that also meant that the quality of the content being produced has severely dropped. Not a lot of original content on OTT platforms is doing well, with many of the movies and shows turning out to be duds.
With quantity being preferred over quality, it looks like OTT content has become an overkill. Perhaps, if makers continue to not pay any attention, then OTT platforms might have to stop producing original content hereon.
