Gunasekhar’s periodic love drama, Shakunthalam is aimed to release on 17th February 2023. However as per the latest information, the makers have to decide to delay the release of this project.
This project is scheduled to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. It is heard that there is an ongoing issue with the occupancy of theatres in the Hindi industry and the Telugu film’s could not get enough number of theatres.
Shaakuntalam is based on Kalidasa’s Abhignana Shakuntalam, featuring Samantha in the titular role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of Puru dynasty along with Mohan Babu, Jisshu Sengupta, Madhoo, Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla in supporting roles.
As per the latest information, Shakuntalam is expected to release on 7th April. More updates regarding this project are awaited.
