Generally, films that don’t work well at the box office end up on OTT platforms a couple of weeks after release. But releasing a film on an OTT platform especially when it is doing a phenomenal theatrical business is a strange phenomenon.
Balagam starring Priyadarshi and Kavya Kalyan Ram falls under this list. Released on 3 March 2023, this small budget performed exceptionally well in the theatres.
However, due to some unknown reasons, the makers have sold the digital rights to OTT giant to Amazon Prime Video. The film was premiered on Amazon Prime Video and Simply South (outside India) from 24 March 2023.
As per the latest information, Balagam is getting a standing ovation even on the OTT platform. The film is currently trending on #2 in India on Amazon Prime Video.
The other cast of the film includes Kommu Sujatha, Arusam Madhusudhan, Aasni Manaswini Gowd and many more. Helmed by Venu Yeldandi, this film has music by Bheems Ceciroleo.
