2023 is turning out to be a black year for the Telugu film industry. Legendary director K Vishwanath passed away on 2nd February. As per the latest information, veteran playback singer Vani Jayaram who sang over 10,000 songs in several languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bhojpuri, and Marathi, died today at the age of 78 in her apartment in Chennai.
She was a part of the film industry for five decades, and received the National Best Playback Singer award thrice, besides state awards in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Odisha. She was recently awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award.
Sources say that her maid turned up for work today, but she never got a response from the singer even after ringing the bell multiple times. Worried maid immediately alerted her relatives and they called the Police. The cops broke open the doors and found the singer lying dead in her apartment.
As per the primary investigation, Police suspect that she might have slipped and suffered a fall. It is very unfortunate to lose such a singer at this point of time. Many celebrities passed condolences to her family.
