Ponniyin Selvan 1, which hit the theatres last year, is one of the biggest hits of all time in Tamil cinema. The recent history of Indian cinema is such that the sequels of successful films turn out to be even bigger hits. Baahubali and KGF are examples of that.
That is the same expectation of the makers of Ponniyin Selvan 2 as well. Discussions have already begun among the fans as what will be the fate of PS-2 which is slated to hit the theatres world-wide on April 28.
This time the makers are keen to focus on the Telugu market as there is no minimum buzz created for the first installment in Telugu states which affected the collections badly.
Now the makers along with the lead cast are promoting the film through their twitter handles as the trailer was expected to be out on March 29th 2023. It is heard that Universal hero Kamal Hassan will attend the event as the chief guest held in Chennai.
According to reports, none of the distributors are ready to take Ponniyin Selvan 2 for distribution in Telugu. It is learnt that the distributors are reluctant to show any significant interest in the second part of the film.
So if the trailer reaches the sky high expectations of the Telugu audience, then it would fetch the makers to some extent and there would be chances of film performing well at the box office.
