The Telugu film industry has been booming for the past decade. It has reached the level of setting a benchmark for the Indian film industry in terms of collections. And.. if ‘Baahubali’ plays a key role in the growth of Telugu film industry.. Prabhas who played that role is taking Tollywood further.
It is remarkable that six of the films in the present Tollywood top-10 grossers are Prabhas. As far as those ten movies are concerned, ‘Baahubali 2’ is still at number 1. ‘Baahubali 2’, released in 2017, collected Rs. 1810 crores worldwide. The next place is ‘RRR’ with Rs.1387 crores. The third place is ‘Salar’, the fourth place is ‘Baahubali 1’, the fifth place is ‘Kalki’ and the sixth place is ‘Saaho’.
Prabhas’s flop movie ‘Aadipurush’ has collected Rs.354 crore worldwide and is at the 8th position.
In this top-10 list, there are six films with Prabhas and two films with Allu Arjun. One of these is ‘Pushpa 1’ and the other is ‘Ala Vaikunthapuram’. Along with Prabhas’ 6 and Allu Arjun’s 2 films, the other two films that have made it to Tollywood’s top-10 grossers are ‘RRR and Hanuman’.
