Kala Tapasvi K. Vishwanath is No More.

Legendary director, screen writer and actor Kala Tapasvi, K. Vishwanath garu is no more. The veteran director has passed due to age related issues on 2 February at the age of 92.

His remarkable works includes Shankarabharanam, Swarabhishekham, Swathi Muthyam, Swarna Kamalam, Sapthapadhi, Swayamkrushi, Aapadhbhandhavudu, Sirivennela and many more.

Kasunadhuni Vishwanath garu started his career in 1951 as an assistant director for the film Pathala Bhairavi directed by KV Reddy garu.

 In sixty years, he has directed 53 feature films in a variety of genres, including films based on performing arts, visual arts, and aesthetics.

 He is recipient of five National Film Awards, seven state Nandi Awards, ten Filmfare Awards South, and a Filmfare Award in Hindi. He was honored with the “Prize of the Public” at the “Besançon Film Festival of France” in 1981.

 In 1992, he received the Andhra Pradesh state Raghupathi Venkaiah Award, and the civilian honor Padma Shri for his contribution to the field of arts. In 2017, he was conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest award in Indian cinema.

It was heard that He was admitted in Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills due to ill health.The untimely demise of K Viswanath left the entire industry in shock and grief. Several Tollywood celebrities have now mourned his death on social media.

The funeral will be held today i.e on 3rd February.
