Dispute over NTR’s house reached the High Court

Junior NTR has filed a petition in the High Court on the dispute over his house in Jubilee Hills. A problem has arisen regarding a 681 square yard plot in Jubilee Hills Housing Society. NTR bought the place in 2003 from a woman named Sunku Geetha. Junior NTR stated in his petition that he got all the permissions as per the law and took up the construction of the house in the same year.

But.. SBI, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Indus Indus and Bank of Baroda Banks have approached the Debt Recovery Tribunal under the Surface Act saying that the people who sold the land to NTR had mortgaged it to them in 1996 and got loans. The DRT, which conducted the investigation, ruled in favor of the banks. NTR first filed a petition in the DRT challenging the notices of the banks. After hearing the arguments, the DRT ruled that the banks have rights over the land.
With that, NTR has now approached the High Court. The bench of Justice Sujoypal and Justice J. Srinivasa Rao took up the hearing on this petition on Thursday. As the copy of the DRT order was not available, the counsel for NTR asked for time. The hearing was adjourned to June 6.
