Tata motors have launched its new compact sedan TIGOR in both petrol and diesel variants. Tigor is a sub four-meter sedan and based on the Tiago hatchback’s platform, though with an increased wheelbase. Despite the similar interiors like Tiago, there are some new and useful features within Tiago along with more space, large boot, and its unique design. This is the first car from Tata’s stable with notchback boot that is unique and very appealing and this rear is termed as “Style back” by Tata.
The Tata Tigor has launched with a starting price of Rs 4.70 lakh for petrol and Rs. 5.60 Lakhs for diesel (ex-showroom Delhi). Yet again Tata’s aggressive pricing is rampant as the car cost Rs 65,000 to Rs 83,000 lower than segment leader Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and Rs 20,000 lower than the Swift hatchback and even Rs 58,000 lower than Maruti Baleno.
The Tata Tigor also borrows its engine options from the hatchback Tiago: the 1.2-liter Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre Revtorq diesel. Tigor also features Harman touchscreen infotainment system with 8 speakers, AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, Android Smartphone-based navigation and steering mounted audio controls. This is the second launch from Tata motors after Tata Hexa in 2017 and the third product to get the Tata Motors’ IMPACT design Philosophy after Tata Tiago and Tata Hexa.
