Akshay Kumar awarded ‘Best actor’ for ‘Rustom’ by President of India

Akshay Kumar now gets added to the list of National award winners as he received the ‘Best actor’ award for his work in the movie ‘Rustom’ which has released last year.

 President Pranab Mukherjee himself honored the actor while senior BJP leader LK Advani congratulated him on his achievement.

Akshay was honored for his portrayal of a patriotic naval officer in Rustom, a court room drama directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, which is loosely based on the 1959 Nanavati murder case. He received the Rajat Kamal and Rs. 50,000.

The actor was accompanied by his wife Twinkle Khanna and son Aarav Bhatia. Akshay Kumar also posted on twitter “An important day in my life with the most important people in the world to me, my family”
